Tried to confirm that this would be a proper FKT as lots of fast guys have run the route or portions of it, Including Ryan Becker, Darren Thomas, Hayden Hawks, etc. There are also two different common sense starting points and the potential for going clockwise or counter-clockwise, obviously, so sorting out the fastest time so far via Strava proved difficult. As far as I could tell, Ryan Becker at least ran a very similar time - probably 57:30ish. Anyway, I'll submit my time for now and hope the route gets some more action. It's a fun one!
I opted to start from the Fairlyland Trailhead since starting with 2 relatively flat miles on the rim trail sounded better than bombing straight into the canyon. Took it easy at first and stopped for a few seconds at one point for someone asking directions (don't think I was much help), then picked it up on the awesome non-technical descent. Even being Memorial Day weekend, I only saw about a dozen people below the rim and did my best to take in the views + a few photos while trying to keep the pace up. Before I knew it, it was time to climb back out and I touched the trailhead sign with my watch stopped just over 57 minutes.
