Perfect october day in the Southern Sierras. Other than the 2 burly passes a lot of this would be highly runnable for the right hardman/woman, which I was not. Plenty of water even in Oct in a dry year - filled at end of lost canyon, little 5, and cliff creek but there were lots of other spots. Poles very nice for the passes and esp Sawtooth which is tons of scree. Saw 2 foxes (coyotes?), a young black bear, and a bunch of NPS folks going in to do some fuels management around some of those remote sequoia groves between Mineral King and Bearpaw, which is great. Fun day.
