This is a great route mostly on gravel along the canal (photos were taken on my way to the start und after the finish). I ran it from north (near Lübeck-Moisling) to south (Lauenburg). Getting to the start from Hamburg and back home from the finish by public transport was relatively simple but added quite some travelling time. I was carrying about 2.5 L of electrolyte drink and gels/snacks from the start to avoid restocking along the way.
The only problematic section of the route is the detour required due to the harbour area in Lauenburg along the canal being closed to the public. This is not signposted in advance coming from the north, therefore I needed to backtrack and run along the road away from the canal there.
