So I ran the route clockwise, on my own and self supported, topping up with supplies only at the coop in Carlton.
The navigation was ok, I downloaded the gpx to my watch and found the signs on the posts really useful. There were a few places along the route where there were official diversions in place which added to the mileage in the end.
There were a few busy golf courses and road crossing to take care and time with, also a few fields with bulls and one railway crossing that I unfortunately got stuck at in the pouring rain ?.
I found the route really enjoyable, with lots of history and beautiful old buildings along the way, despite the diversions, golf courses, railway crossing and road crossings to take care with.
