I had only one week. One week with the way there and back home. The average I was planning to do was around 75 km a day. The path was marked so well and I felt so good that I pushed the final time under 5 day to make the average around 83 km a day. Sleep, drink and eat only outside. I have met a lot of pilgrims which made the FKT not so lonely ;)

The first part to Dovre is very nice. It goes on sides of the big valley Gudbrandsdalsleden. I passed a lot of beautiful farms and small villages. Eventhought the path does't go on any very top of the ridge there are a lot of uphill and downhill.

From Dovre the pure Norway begin. The epic Dovrefjell mountan range gives you the real freedom.

The final part from Oppdal has several asphalt section but it is accaptable. The final push is in the middle of deep swamps and nice forests.

The whole route is perfect combination of norwegian rural and remote mountain areas.
