Day 1 - I planned to do the entire Western Tatras and summit Świnica at the end. I left a small drop bag and some water on the trail near Rohače the day before, which were very useful. Unfortunately, the weather was terrible. I got completely soaked at least three times, and the wind only made it worse with gusts up to 100 km/h. I managed to reach the Ornak hut around 5:00 PM. During the ascent to Ciemniak, the weather worsened again, so I knew I wouldn't have time for Świnica. I ran to Kasprowy and spent the night at Murowaniec. Considering the conditions, I wanted to quit entirely; I've never had such bad mountain weather and feared doing Orla [Perć] in the rain would take too long the following day.
Day 2 - The forecast looked much better, so I decided to give it a try. I had to return to the Slovak side anyway, where I had a booked room with all my things. The day was going well, and I started the approach to Rysy at 8:00 PM but knew a bed and food were waiting at the hut under Rysy, which I reached around 9:40 PM. Because of this, I didn't encounter anyone on the trail and didn't have to wait in any queues on the technical sections.
Day 3 - I started with Koprovský (encountered a bear on the descent) and ran to Kriváň. The weather was OK until about 5:00 PM. I was on Solisko then. Instead of doing Bystrá lávka, I stopped at the hut under Solisko and spent the night there. The rain didn't calm down until around 8:00 AM the next day, so I wasted a lot of time here.
Day 4 - Finally some sun. I managed to complete almost everything I planned except Slavkovský. The first half of the day was really pleasant and interesting because I hadn't done many of those sections before, and the high passes were surprisingly technical.
Day 5 - After a night at Bilíkova chata, I did Slavkovský and Lomnické sedlo/veža. Here, I got hit first by snow, then a heavy, freezing downpour. I had to take cover again (this time in a restaurant) and wait out the worst of it. Around 11:30 AM, I decided I had nothing left to lose and ran towards the Zelené pleso valley wrapped in an emergency blanket. Climbing the final peak, Jahňací štít, the weather was so awful I didn't see a single person. I reached the summit at 2:16 PM, quickly took a photo and video, and headed down to the shelter.
