FKT: Matt Schein - Mount Baldy Loop (AZ) - 2021-05-30

Ran clockwise from the East Baldy trailhead to connect with the West Baldy trail just below the summit. The summit of Mt. Baldy is in the jurisdiction of the Mountain Apache Reservation, so no hikers are allowed to reach the peak without permission. I didn’t get permission either, so chose not to push it any further. The loop feels like you are more in Colorado then Arizona. Great training for altitude, as I topped out around 11,145 feet. Many people camping and fly fishing on my way back down the West Baldy trail also. Ran the majority of the way, with small hiking breaks when the vert got real or passing over/under the many fallen trees. Awesome trail!
