Narrowly achieved the FKT on my third attempt. My first two tries were 20:22 and 19:58. This time I think was better because the air was a little warmer and I actually took the time to do a short warm-up run.
This is such a fun trail. It's got some awesome terrain, seriously- check out some of the cool cliff spots overlooking rt8 when you're practicing the route.
On 2-15 the trail conditions were pretty mediocre for running. Some spots on the flat wide after the initial uphill were a little wet and icy but it was avoidable on the shoulder. The short hill down to the bridged stream crossing was especially muddy and icy. Broken down autumn leaves coating most of trail remove some traction. There are a bunch of downed trees (4-5) to climb over on the approach to the second incline which were annoying. I think i'll give the route some more attempts this summer.
Shout out to Brian Kinney! Thanks for the motivation to push this route!
