First time in the park. Started shortly after sunrise. Sand was still soft, a few frosted areas down by the beach. Ended up doing a bit extra; descended the big open dune between trail 9 and 10 and had to backtrack back upward which added extra time. My calves were really feeling the sandy uphills toward the end. Was a fairly warm day for mid December. Brought way too may extra layers that were never used. All in all a great route!
