A lovely route which is a mixture of trails and cycle paths which goes right past my Mum's house. The conditions were very humid which made it tough going, but I carried plenty of water to keep hydrated. I was able to obtain a gpx of the route from Walk Colchester, so navigation was fairly easy. I had also recced the route a few weeks before, but I still managed to take a couple of wrong turnings and had to backtrack once or twice. It was possible to run most of the route, but some of the sections were quite overgrown due to all the recent rain so my arms and legs are now covered in scratches. There are also a couple of trees down blocking the path, so it's necessary to do a bit of climbing or limbo. I had to walk one field as it was full of cows with calves and I know they don't like people running past them. There are quite a few busy road crossings so you have to get lucky.
