Beautiful day along the Dender. 

Woke up early to go by car to Dendermonde and take the train to Ath. The sun was already out when I started the route in Ath. I had everything with me in the backpack - 4 bottles of isotonic drink & 1 bottle of water, gels, sandwiches, etc. 

I started quite conservatively and stopped regularly to enjoy the view along the Dender. In the afternoon it got quite hot and the last 10 km's I had to drop the tempo. Glad that I reached the end of the Dender in Dendermonde and took my first FKT.
