Chose a rainy Saturday with the hopes that the trail would be pretty empty, and I was right! I started at the road beyond the Boring sign as I was not 100% sure what we were calling the beginning of the trail -- I'd rather run more than less. I ran with my husband on a bike holding my nutrition for the first 11-ish miles and then he passed a vest off to me so I could hold my own nutrition for a few miles while he circled back to get the car. I carried a liter of water and 150g of carbs in a soft flask. With about 7 miles left, I met up with my friend who kept me having fun for the final few miles! The mileage countdown got a bit wonky once the count switched from the printing on the path to the posts on the side of the trail (around Foster Ave) by about a mile, but the total mileage was as expected in the end. The final 1 mile countdown according to the trail marker was closer to a 0.4 countdown, so I panicked and ran more until I hit the distance - haha! Although upon looking back, my distance that I was seeing (about 21.1 miles) was also reflected in the file of the women who set the FKT before me. I followed their exact route so that there wouldn't be any questions with the areas that can get a bit tricky such as the path direction by the Goodwill. There is a little bit more distance on both ends but again, would rather run more than run less!
Overall, it was a great Saturday! I would love to attempt the unsupported one day as well :)
