Third time is a charm. Tried twice previously, on hot sunny days. Both failed. Finally got great weather today. Got to the Weatherford trailhead a little past 7. This is closer to where I live, so shorter drive time. Started at slightly over 7 min pace under dim light of dawn. Temperature low 50. Felt great. Refilled my soft flask at almost 11 miles. Although been here twice before, still managed to forgot that the faucet is to the right of the trail, and instead looked for it to the left. It took asking a lady just happened to arrive there in the parking lot to find the faucet.

Arriving at Mineral Wells with empty flasks. Luckily there's the good old McDonald's on the left of the road, where they allowed me to fill up for free. This was also why the run is self-supported instead of unsupported. Getting to the end of the trail, circling back from the parking lot and I started the second half back to Weatherford. Feet started to feel heavy, but still maintained under 8 min pace. Bothered the McDonald's again, but only filled one flask and forgot the second. Cursed loudly when I discovered the mistake but it was too late to turn back. Decided to cut back on salt capsules so that I didn't need so much water. Refill again at the mid-way faucet, at which point, I slowed down quite a bit. Something must be wrong with my fueling which I need to figure out later. Picked up pace a little for the final 4 miles with the help of a slight downhill and surge of endorphin, ended the run with an average pace of 7:55, and a total time of 5:16:21
