I decided to do this route after a number of other variations on these three peaks. Shortly after my second ascent of Window (Esperero-Ventana loop), I saw on facebook that Eric R and crews had finished repairing the upper Finger Rock Trail, making the traverse between peaks more accessible. I took the most direct route up Finger Rock-Pima trails to Mt. Kimball, Finger-Esperero to Window Peak, and Esperero-Cathedral Rock trail/off-trail to the summit of Cathedral. The recently rehabbed trails were in excellent condition. On the ascent of Cathedral, I navigated the south drainage amidst a sea of manzanita et al, to the north tower. The rope up the gully on the north tower, anchored to a small tree and a gear piece (nut), proved reliable. Interestly, I'd only found one other account of someone doing all three peaks in the same day, by "Desert Mountaineer" in 1989. But on the descent, I ran by someone on the trail in town from Washington who had done a similar route (Up Finger, down Esperero, but without summiting Window and Cathedral). And just as I was preparing to share this, I saw on Peakbagger that someone did this exact same route just two days after me. It's probably going to get a lot more action now that the trails between the peaks have been restored. I’m just glad I was able to complete this before the bighorn sheep closure Jan 1. Highly recommended!
