Original route. I did Mt. Defiance with my dog, Bailey (who refused to move near the end, resulting in a 45 minutes of dog-coaxing). The Columbia River was a great swim! I swam with a wetsuit and swim buoy, with a friend, from the boat launch at Viento State Park. Once on the Washington side, we ran along the Hwy 14 for about a mile to the Dog Mountain Trailhead. My friend and I did Dog Mountain loop at our own paces, which completed the excellent morning adventure.
