Michael Gagliardi (aka, Gagz) and I started the route at 5:01 am on Friday July 4, 2025 at the Pine Road entrance to Pennypack Park. We traveled counter-clockwise, following the FKT route gps as well as printed turn-by-turn directions for the route (I'd be happy to share- DM me at @mrmribbit). Around mile 10 (Ivy Hill Rd. & Stenton Ave), Ken Campbell joined us for a bit while his wife, Anne, leapfrogged us with crew support until the Falls Bridge. Erin Jaskiewicz met us at mile 50 with ice cold water, sunscreen and Scandinavian Swimmers (Gummy candy lol), and then ran with us for about 5 miles. We were also crewed at miles 55 and 65, for much-needed snacks, Red Bull, and some blister care for my feet. Throughout the day, we stopped at gas stations and Wawas for cold drinks and snacks - there are ample opportunities to replenish along the route! It was a hot day and much of the route is fully exposed in the sun, but there are also a few beautiful sections with trees, shade, and creek views. I saw deer, mice, a hawk, two foxes, and a whole lot of 4th of July fireworks. It was truly epic to experience the breadth and diversity of the city on foot, and I am so super grateful for the chance to run this route again!! I can't wait to see others put down some super fast times on this course! #teamMG
