On Saturday, February 12, I ran from Menomonee Falls to North Lake and back on the Bugline Recreation Trail. Temps were in the single digits and the wind chill was at or below zero. The bright sunshine helped make it feel warmer! The trail was covered with packed snow and had a few icy spots. I ran unsupported and carried all of my nutrition in my pack. For fluids, I had two soft flasks and one handheld bottle (cold temps created a Tailwind Slushee by the end of the run!). I highly recommend running on this trail. When not snow covered, the trail is relatively flat and paved. I enjoy the varied scenery - villages, quarries, forests, lakes and rivers.
