On Saturday, March 5, I ran from Bender Park in Oak Creek, WI to E. Russel Ave. in Bayview, WI and back to Bender Park on the South Shore Line of the Oak Leaf Trail. After weeks of frigid weather, it was a perfect day for a run! Temps were in the upper 30's at the start and upper 40's at the finish with minimal winds. The trail was a mix of paved and gravel bike paths. There were a few spots of snow and ice. I ran unsupported and carried all of my nutrition in my pack. For fluids, I had two soft flasks and one handheld bottle. As this trail winds through Milwaukee County parks, it provides beautiful views of Lake Michigan! I highly recommend running on this trail!
