I started at 7:21AM on Thurs, Aug 10th, just around a year since the previous FKT, and finished around 12:45PM.
I spent time in the morning dropping off a bike and supplies at the finish for an unsupported shuttle/duathlon.
Weather and trail conditions were great, there was a recent rain in the previous day/evening that made the prairie sections a bit wet and trail a bit tacky, but sunny on this day. Warmer in the more exposed sections but pleasant in the trees. Previous route tracks were easy to follow, thank you to those that have done this and put out the information, and thanks to the solid effort from Justin D. to give motivation for a steady pace! I still missed a trail turn early that cost a few minutes. It was nice to get on the trail and follow blazes the rest of the way.
After the run finish, I took some time to recombobulate (in the local vernacular) and set up the bike for a stiff and leisurely pedal back.
