Parked and departed solo from the Montpelier trail head at 6:22 am.  Had 3 liters of fuel and hydration in a hydration vest along with additional mix, a bagel, and an energy bar.  Temp was 55 degrees F at the start.

Stopped at mile 24 in Wauseon at Reighard park.  Nice public restroom but had to travel a quarter mile off the trail to reach it. Refilled bottles and bladder with another 3L of fuel and hydration.

Next stop was about mile 37 at Springbrook in Oak Openings.  Again, at a public restroom.  Refilled two bottles with a liter of fuel.

Last stop was just a few miles from the end at Keener Park in Monclova twp.  Again, a public restroom where I filled my two bottles with a liter of water.

I finished at the Jerome trailhead at 2:00pm, temperature was 83F.  I walked about 10 minutes to the Fallen Timbers Battlefield Park where I called my wife to pick me up.

The trail was about 60 percent gravel, dirt, grass, a bit of mud, and then the last 40 percent is paved.  I believe the 3 stops I made are the only public water sources, and with long stretches of full sun and a hot breeze, it got tough.

Editor's note: I asked Mike about not using the detour to County Road F east of Wauseon. Here is his response: "The trail has a detour that they state is for safety with an active railroad, but this is not how most users travel it as detouring only to run or bike on the edge of a county road for 2 miles is also not safe.  In my opinion, actually less safe.  Either way you cross the railroad line.  Most simply traverse the railroad line and stay on the original wabash cannonball corridor.  It runs parallel so the mileage difference is negligible.  I understand if this is not acceptable for these purposes but wanted to explain my decision." This makes sense to me, though I don't know how the signage on site reads, or if most trail users do indeed skip the detour. I'm approving this FKT, but am open to flagging it if local runners challenge it based on Mike's routing decision.
