Started at / around 6:30 AM from the main market square of McLeodganj and moved towards Bhagsu (Bhagsunag waterfall). Lost a bit of the way while crossing the waterfall, but got back on the trail soon after. Followed the trail up to the ridge while keeping track of my position with respect to the gpx file at all times. Reached Triund, the high point of this route, without realizing it and kept climbing the ridge. Clear and beautiful sunny summer day. After realizing my error, got back on the the route and descended quickly down the trail. Managed the dirt track and the downhill to Dharamkot cautiously. The last bit of road section was fun, but didn't push it as sub 2:30 was secure.
I originally though that the overall FKT was 2:35 / 2:37, but it turns out that my friends, Sannat and Arun, have done this course together in 2:26. However, as an unsupported effort, I believe this would the fastest known time. Better research on my part could've helped secure an overall FKT, but happy to have run this route.
Excited to see more runners attempt this course over time.
