We originally wanted to do this route as a 2-day 1-night backpack, but both of our schedules got tight, and instead, we decided to both drive 5 hours to meet up and start the hike at 23:00. We were in for quite an adventure! The night hiking went smoothly, we were covered in the forest and were met with lots of flowing streams. The sunrise was epic and we were about 1 hour away from the peak at that time. Although the sun did lift our spirits, it started to get hot and exposed. The descent was an exposed ridgeline and slightly tough to stay on the trail as there are many small trails that are not the main one. The closest creek was dried up and we were running low on water but thankfully a creek 2 miles from the end was flowing and covered in a forest. The last 2 miles were beautiful with views of the glorious Pacific and some coverage from the sun. Overall, a very tough hike but we also were sleep deprived and hot. Could be completed faster that is for sure!
