Carson and Nicco ran the Mt Sanitas-Lions Lair Loop on the Boulder, CO skyline in 55m21s on February 23rd, 2026. The weather was perfect, slightly overcast, approximately 60 degrees Fahrenheit. We started in the Centennial Trailhead parking lot, using the no-parking sign a few steps east of the mini-pedestrian bridge as our starting and ending point. We ran up Mt Sanitas, with generally steady pacing, walking the steeper stair/large-boulder sections, generally feeling pretty good on the clear and lukewarm winter day. We reached the summit of Mt Sanitas in ~25:10, pausing for a photo in front of the plaque and pole marking the top of our climb. Our descent down Lions Lair was quick and smooth, the trail was in great condition as we passed over a dozen other trail users along the way — not too many for a frequently crowded hike. We eventually reached the centennial trailhead parking lot, descending the staircase above the bathroom and back to our starting point in approximately 55m21s according to the slower of our two watch-ending-times.
