Took a crack at 2:18 marathoner, Nate Orndorf's 2:35:01 loop record, and ended up eclipsing the mark by FIVE seconds. I chose to "clean up" the route by staying on the MRT (where Nate hung a left early on during his attempt), which was a 0.3mi difference. I knew this was risking the record but I kept the hammer down. The last hour I wanted to let off the gas pedal but my mind wouldn't let me. Maybe I'm becoming tougher in my old age of 27.
Humid morning, drenched in sweat, chafed pretty good on the inner thighs. Best trail in the Lower Peninsula.
