Solo, unsupported, self-navigated with a paper map.
The entire route, including the deviation to St Mary and All Saints, Willoughby-on-the-Wolds.
Fuelled by a mini pork pie, a home-made flapjack, a banana and 250ml water. The two pints of Wherry at the finish tasted so good 😋
Perfect conditions: dry, clear, slightly overcast, mild (12°C) light SE breeze. Dry underfoot and not too overgrown except in the woods.
A few highlights: Wheatear on the field above Bunny Woods; diversion (due to electric fence) around the edge of a huge field before Willoughby; bumping into Morton from RAC near Widmerpool; the world's longest hose serving a fire engine on Lings Lane; a bloke up a tree with a shotgun; birdsong filled woodland; not making any navigation errors; putting the map away and going for it over the last mile.
