This attempt via the normal summer route was approached with solid confidence due to a deep familiarity with the itinerary. The initial trail section from Saint-Gervais up to the Nid d'Aigle was covered at a fast, steady pace. Just above the Nid d'Aigle, the snow cover required some route-finding, but the firm snowpack provided excellent support. The Goûter couloir was entirely filled with snow, making the crossing highly efficient and straightforward, followed by a fluid progression along the ridge up to the hut.
Higher up, conditions toward the summit were highly favorable despite noticeable winds. The current detour on the North Face around the Bosses ridge was perfectly tracked and posed no issues. The descent was smooth and steady throughout the alpine sections. However, the final kilometers returning to the church proved demanding due to the intense valley heat, creating a stark and physically challenging contrast with the cold temperatures experienced at altitude.
