Oh man, this was so close. I wish I had beat Rea's time by a little more, but this is how the cards played out. I was around 1:26 to the summit of Peak 1. This is decent for me but slow for most people trying for a speed attempt on this traverse. I do the best Peak 1 - 4, though today I was struggling because my husband and I witnessed a severe accident off the ridge on Peak about a month ago. I could not get that out of my head, so I was happy once I was standing on Peak 4. The rest is pretty standard fare, but I knew I had to bust my ass down off the summit of Peak 10 to break the time. My bladder is not what it used to be before two children - most any mom can relate to this - but I had to butch up and ignore the phantom pee sensations to make sure I got down in time. My oldest daughter was waiting for me at the bottom so that was a nice a treat. I only beat Rea's time by 4:30, but I fought the whole time so I'll take it. Looking forward to seeing the next woman to lower this time. It's coming, I know it.
