Starting early in the morning at 5am from the popular hikers parking lot in Hinterstein village, you first follow a road deep into the valley to Giebelhaus. From there the main incline begins as the way becomes a much more alpine and "trail-y". After passing the Prinz Luitpold Haus (where most hikers spend a night before summiting) I continued straight without stopping into some snow patches and the first scrambling section - no climbing gear needed, helmet recommended. Once you crossed the ridge you descend a bit onto a saddle before starting the final steep climb up to the Hochvogel summit (2592m). It took me 03:59:54 from start to summit. Keep in mind that there might still be quite a bit of snow and ice, especially in the last 500m of the climb - even in June.
