Came to CPH for a weekend trip and ever since finding the Amarminoen on FKT, thought about doing it the next time I‘m there.
Fast forward to today, the weather was grueling, heavy winds and a constant drizzle, sometimes turning into solid rain. All the way to the Start in Dragør on the bus, I thought about quitting before starting, as I already froze, just looking out of the window and seeing all the people in their winter coats, hoods tightly around the head, enormous scarfs and still looking cold.
But nevertheless I walked to the start and began my mini adventure back to town.
The route itself is gorgeous and extremely varied. You run on grass, sand, tarmac, plain mud and gravel for stretches. Along the beach, through the woods, over plain fields, along the harbour. Really a blessing of a route!
As expected, the wind was a pain in the a** for the first like 10k, but slowly the route rotated into more favorable directions.
Didn’t plan on going all out, a solid high zone 3 effort and at the end faster than I planned, as I didn’t wanted to run into the dark and procrastinated too long in the beginning of the day to start the thing.
Will definitely do it again, but as an easy longrun in wonderful weather, at least I hope so.
I know, I‘m not one of the speedy cats out there, so let the chase begin, everybody from the area should do this one, it’s great!
