2024 I had to change to self-supported due to lack of water. This year I started with nearly 4 liters in my backpack (instead of 2.5). As a cloudy day was expected I allowed myself to start shortly after 6 am so no headlight was required. I parked again in Comacchio but instead of clockwise I ran anti-clockwise this year.
For the first 2k there was light rain, afterwards dry but only little direct sun. Nice nature in the beginning (sunglasses recommended as there are lots of insects flying around). Then approx. 10k street with little traffic in the morning hours. Best part of the course (argine degli angeli) at around halftime. Worst part were the around 3k at the SS309. During that time of day lots of traffic and you have to run very close to the cars. Also passing the bridge at Porto Garibaldi was unpleasent. Maybe better to do this part early in the morning with less traffic.
At the road back to Commachio there is bicycle lane. Some stairs in the beautiful town of Commachio at 55k was hell for my legs.
