I completed the route in reverse so I could finish close to home in Sheffield. Logistics were pretty easy and parked at Dore & Totley station where I got the train to Manchester Piccadilly.
I decided to also so it un-supported overnight. Good Spine training but it meant that I don't have anything to report on the views!
It's very busy in Manchester and the first part of the route took some finding. Once I was on the canal tow path, this was pretty much the route for the first 30km. The rest of the route were either very easy trails or tarmac and this was the same with the route across the Peaks with no open fell. So it's very accessible.
I carried everything I needed as it was an unsupported effort. As the route takes you into train stations it meant the water was pretty easy to find from external taps on either the village pubs or churches.
