Very early start to the day due to forecast of very hot (for UK) weather (28c)... We got to the start in good time and approached the challenge with a 'hike the climbs, run the downhill and flats' approach. We were aiming for sub 4 hours, but due to a slight navigation error, we had to go back on ourselves to get back on the prescribed route.
We carried all the nutrition, fluid and electrolytes with us for the whole attempt. This was originally planned as a recce for the route for a future FKT attempt, but due to feeling strong, we went for it!
