I departed from the car park situated in the N320 bend as you enter Porté-Puymorens from the north [https://goo.gl/maps/rUzA2Fj6krB8ZU757 / GR signpost "Camps de la Costa 1681m"] to do the full Tour du Carlit counter-clockwise loop. I've created a Strava segment for this.
Got stung by a wasp on the back of my ankle as I was running up the Coll de l'Home Mort, but decided to go on with my FKT attempt despite the pain and discomfort.
Weather was cool all day ranging 2ºC-14ºC. The warmest part coincided with the southernmost part of the route around Dorres, where the sun was shyly showing up, and the coolest was a bit later at and after the Lac de Bouillouses and as I climbed to the highest point of the day - la Porteille de la Grave at 2426m.
I followed the GR/GRP route strictly, in a totally unsupported style [I was carrying some food with me as well as water, which I refilled at a public fountain in Dorres and at several natural streams along the way], making it back to the start point in 6 hours, 24 minutes, 25 seconds elapsed time.
