At 8:59 on Weds, 6 August, I started my run to Weissmies from Saas-Almagell dorfplatz (town square).

Before reaching Almageller Hütte, a shepherd dog assaulted me and wouldn't let me continue on the path. I had to run backwards (no idea how I didn't trip and fall), yelled at him and finally I got him to understand I was not going to harm his sheeps. This was a big drawback on my FKT attempt, both for the actual time lost when facing the dog and doing a detour to avoid him and the sheeps, and also for the mental down due to the unfortunate situation and the fear which took some time to go away (plus the uncertainty about encountering the same on my way down).

I climbed the SE ridge which is really aesthetic, then traversed a couple of snowy ridges to reach the Weissmies summit (4017m) in 2h26'03".

I didn't have to pull out my micro crampons as the snowy terrain was not difficult and was in very good conditions.

After ~1' at the summit, I headed back for the descent. The down climbing of the rock ridge was the trickiest part of the route. Then, when I passed the hut and didn't find the dog again, I felt confident and pushed a bit on the trail descent. Finally I was back at the Saas-Almagell town square in 4h04'20".

I have to say I didn't do this full gas as I was a little tired after 10 days in the mountains (2&3 days before I had been enjoying Monte Rosa and 5 days before I set the unsupported FKT on Gran Paradiso), and because I had Sierre-Zinal race 3 days afterwards.

Gear: NNormal Tomir 01. Shorts. Didn't pull out windbreaker nor crampons. I left my ice axe in the car.

Fueling: 1L of water (didn't refill), a couple of little biscuits (I had been in a all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant the day before so didn't feel like eating much).
