This is the Dublin mountain Way. I got a taxi to the start at Tallaght Luas stop and headed off at about 8.34AM. I was collected by my wife in Shankhill DART station.
I brought 2.5l of water mixed with tailwind and plenty of gels and waffles. I ate a little to close to heading off so my stomach was in knots for most of the day but managed a gel and some jellies and the tailwind.
The weather was well, truly Irish.... sun, rain and sleet. It wasn't a perfect run by any means but it was fun!
I was by myself for the 4 hours, only meeting a few groups of hikers, mountain bikers and a few other trail runners along the way.
The route is a mix of road and trails and on a good day could probably just do it with a normal reasonably grippy pair of shoes, for the day that was in it, I was glad I had my La Sportivas.
