Touched the stone in Inverness at 7:00
Started with John Yells to Drumnadrochit. John Finished in Drum. Met my brother-in-law Ryan MacDonald who was supporting me on the road.
From there I continued on my own to Invermoriston, Fort Augustus and to Laggan locks - my next support points.
I made a small mistake coming down to Fort Augusts, I missed the marker. Only 30m so not a big deal.
There was few works on the canal, one of them slowed me down a bit as I had to make my way through bushes and mud as there was a crane in operation at one of the locks. The canal hell continued...
Met Corrina Mertens on a bike at Invergarry old railway and continued to Laggan locks where Markus Mertens joined me all the way to Gairlochy.
We met Corrina again on the bike just before Clunes she went ahead and got some friend out with cow bells to get us going.
Arrived at Gairlochy, the last support point and with 18km to go I realised I can do this under 12h if I keep a steady pace of 5:10/5:30/km
And it happened.
I touched the stone in Fort William at 18:53:32
I sat down under the stone and enjoyed the moment surrounded by family and firends!
My wife and children came to see me, my mum and sister, Ryan, Ian Fergusson from Oban Times, Corrina and Markus escorted me to the finish.
I got a bottle of coca cola and a warm jacket from Maiya and Freya (my daughters).
Life is good now.
I'm home and my family is with me.
