On Saturday, September 12 at 7:12AM I started at the Harts Pass Trailhead. The temperature was 55 degrees with wind coming from the north, which is a really good things because of the wildfire smoke in Washington and also the smoke that is coming up from Oregon and California. It was my first time running on the Pacific Crest trail and I was super excited. I used an Osprey Duro 15 pack to hold all my gear, tent, GU's, Honey Stinger Waffles, and Sawyer Mini water filter. I filtered my water from a stream near the 13.4 mile mark. The miles up through Holman Pass were much steeper, rough scree, and hard on my feet. The next place I filtered water was at the 23.5 mark which was not flowing that well. My legs were definitely tired and feet beat up from the scree. I found renewed energy from mile 24 until 28.9! So happy to reach the northern terminus.
