26-34deg mostly sunny. 50mi knobstone unsupported in 9:05:46. My parents drove me down and dropped me off and then picked me up. I wore half tights and a light long sleeve. I was worried I’d be cold for a few hours but actually felt pretty good. Took 3900 calories and ate all but 100cal. Started at 7:30am and didn’t need a headlight. Beautiful sunrise over deam lake. Started out feeling good and wanted to push just slightly. My HR was fairly high and I felt like I was moving well. I was worried I was overdoing it and would crash but just tried not to worry about it and hope for the best.  Stopped to get water in streams 5 times. At the first stop, I was putting my flask in my vest and I dropped it. It fell onto the ice and slid across. Had to step in the water to get it. Glad I got it, but didn’t like a freezing cold wet foot.  Stomach wasn’t great and had to stop 4 times in the first 4hrs, but I could eat all day so I’ll take it. Started to feel tired around 3.5hrs but nothing dramatic. Around 30mi, I started to do some math and realized if I had an amazing finish I could be 9:15. Didn’t believe that would happen since I knew I would fade. Then around 35mi, I felt pretty bad. I had a couple bad miles from getting behind on calories. Once I caught up, I felt better. Was thinking 9:30 was possible and was ecstatic. With 6mi to go, I was thinking maybe I could get the overall time but then dismissed it for some reason.  A couple miles later, I added it up again and thought maybe there’s a chance. Just kept telling myself not to give up until the finish. I got to the last 2 hills and knew I had it if I didn’t fall. Was moving quickly that last bit. Finished with a huge smile. I really can’t believe that just happened. I thought 9:45-9:50 was going to be a dream day. I never even considered going for the overall time. I'm glad I didn't pay too much attention to my time along the way, or I may have slowed down.  Still can’t believe I ran that. What a day.
