FKT: Rachel McIlwain - The Citadel (Colorado 13er) - 2023-09-04

The Citadel - started from the Herman Gulch TH and followed up to the lake. The route is standard to that point and very easy to follow. After the lake stay right and ascend up to the saddle between Hagar mountain and the citadel towers. Continue around the backside towards a gully. The gully ascends up to the top of the citadel but you need to make sure you are on the summit. It’s a bit spicy toward the top and very loose scrambling. A fall here might get you hurt. Descend the way you came.
