I'm attempting 4 FKTs in the Bay Area in 4 days and this was 2/4. Such a fun loop through eucalyptus forests and pastures! So many beautiful bay views too! I wore the Merrell Sky Fire 2s which definitely helped on this route. This was a short one so I went light without water or fuel.
I started and ended from the sign in the pictures in the parking lot to the trailhead. The first few miles are on roads with rolling hills, then I got to climb through the eucalyptus forest, then the trail took me to the middle of a pasture with cows and gorgeous bay area views. It's rained here a lot in the past couple weeks so in miles 9 and 10 I hit a really muddy and sloggy couple of miles with a ton of mud and tough footing from cows walking on the trail. My shoes were nice and muddy after this one but they held up really well in the mud and I didn't slide or twist any ankles today!
