At 6:00 the trailhead parking lot was already filling up. Many others had the same idea to watch the sunrise from the summit. Only we arrived the peak much earlier. But why miss that sunrise view of Juniper Canyon? We waited for 36m15 while taking a few pictures. Then descended back fast on well maintained trail. A few rough sections. Many fun switchbacks. And many walkers.
Easy short drive from Chisos Mountain lodge where we were staying. Only wish there was a direct trail from the lodge to the mountain instead of the short drive.
