What a hike! Having an Army combat background, this was something special to do. I took the bus from Manila to Mariveles, had lunch and then went to the KM 0 marker. Walked out of town up the biggest climb of the trip. Walked till after dark and found a nice bench to sleep on. Day two was over cast and cooler weather. Got in decent hours of walking and feeling like real progress passing kilometer markers all day. Finally found a covered place to sleep for the evening. Day 3 I was exhausted from the poor sleep that last two evenings. It was hot and sunny, should have left earlier. Over heated around lunch and spent a couple hours cooling off. Ended up pushing late into the evening arriving hours after dark. What a hike!
