The Bugline is my home trail. I live ¾ miles from the start of the trail in Menomonee Falls, WI. That is where I first started running and where I trained for my first half-marathon and marathon. I have ran hundreds of miles on the Bugline and I do not get tired of it. It is a beautiful paved trail with tree tunnels, bridges, creeks, and wildlife. I have seen deer, turtles, turkeys, ducks, coyote, and many birds on my runs over the last 6 years.

On May 30th, 2020 during the start of the Covid-19 pandemic when races had been cancelled, I decided to run the entire Bugline trail out and back for a total of 32.17 miles. I started early in the morning. It was a beautiful sunny day. I did 4:1 run/walk intervals (run for 4 minutes, walk for one minute). I was mostly by myself. I carried a hydration vest with water and Tailwind and some snacks. My friend Michelle came meet me at Fireman’s Park in Merton around mile 13 and brought me water. She ran with me to the end of the trail and back to Fireman’s Park – around 6 miles. I felt great and had a great time!
