With a head full of cold and a pack full of water I left the summit of Yr Wyddfa just after 0430.

Crib Goch was slippy in the damp air but it wasn’t long before I navigated the Snowdon leg and was down at the road, where cramp suddenly stopped me in my tracks briefly.

Elidir Fawr was a slog as always but I summited in just over 2 hrs. Y Garn was next, and that was a low point, I grappled with the enormity of the run and how much was left to complete.

The summits kept coming and on the long descent into Ogwen, cramp returned with vengeance. I lost a bit of time stretching off and also refilling water from a stream.

The climb up Pen Yr Ole Wen killed my legs, I forced myself to eat as much food as I could to try and get a bit of power back. I was moving so slowly I did question if the eastern route would have been quicker. It’s longer, but might be quicker overall.

It was then looking like an 8 hour plus finish. On the last leg, I gave it my all and clawed back some time, eventually finishing on Foel Fras in 07:40:13

I traveled solo, carrying everything I started with and only stopping once in Ogwen for water from a stream.
