I really need a break from this route! Things are starting to warm up a little here in the desert so I made sure I left before sun up. The pace felt pretty good going up but about a .5 from the top, cramps started nagging me. I fought through it and made it to the top at 1:45:35 and spent a couple minutes overhearing two ladies next to me sharing campground drama for the day which was waning my stoke, so I opted to head back down. Found a fun/sketchy scree slope near the end of the ridge and was hoping to finish strong at about a 6-6:30 pace for the last 5 miles but started gassing a bit and kept it to around 7:30. It was enough for the time, so I couldn't complain. That is except for maybe the faceplant and probably losing my big toe nail. All in a day's work I guess! Love this route, but I'm definitely done with it for the season though. Too many other things to do!
