We mapped a course loosely based off the one Cole Crosby did but in reverse and with more access to food and water stops along the way since we would be doing this self-supported. We started in Cape May NJ on the beach by the Light House on Wednesday October 3, 2024 at 4:57am and headed north.
Because the effort was multi day and self supported our packs were a bit heavy, about 18 pounds, and that made things hard over time. Plus finding food and water safe places to rest and dirt nap along the way for some stretches, particularly in south jersey, was hard. We slept in constructions sites, a park, a closed nursery, a field... it was cold and wild and crazy.
Anthony and I took a LOT of photos and videos along the way and are memorialized in this shared album https://photos.app.goo.gl/ic888qVn3nG6wvik7
We met so many kind and interesting people along the way. We shared so many stories and laughs and got each other through some serious rough patches. It was amazing to finish at the monument in High Point. The folks who were there were amazed and had so many questions when they realized we had just finished a 200+mile adventure. Eventually We'll write up a more coherent trip summary, but the linked photos and videos tell the tale. It was the best 4 days of our lives in recent memory and we are filled with gratitude that we could do this run.
