I got the idea to go for this route from a run in the area with my friend Adam. After going back and forth on it, I decided to push for a sub-3 hour attempt on the ascent.
The day was overcast and drizzling, but no real drama on the ascent. Got to Schoolhouse Branch in 43 minutes, Forney Ridge in 1:28, and summited just under 3.
After my summit, I took the Forney Creek trail back to complete the total loop in 6:23. It was a great day to be out there!
