Fun loop with a mix of all sorts of terrain. The route is still in rough shape with mix of deep snow and ice. Think in normal conditions 1:50ish is well within reach. Started around 9:00am. 9 miles of the loop around the backside of Cardigan this time of year is seldomly used. The last descent from Cardigan to the starting point gets loaded with foot traffic come 10:00am. The Back 80 section up to the Cardigan summit is exhausting with the snow. Be careful once you make the left onto Mowglis Trail... The trail markers seem to disappear. I was tracking on my phone and GPS said I was on right track but couldn't see any markers for a 1/4 mile.
Look forward to coming back to this loop later in the spring. I would love some company to push for a 1:50 effort.
