Started at 5:48am! It was a beautiful day, but quite cold actually for the first 12 miles or so (sub 40 degrees). My boyfriend fell on his bike around Mile 5, so I took a minute or so to make sure he was OK before jumping back into my running flow. :)
This is a must-run route for people interested in a fun, fast marathon distance FKT. The route follows a creek the entire time until you get to Echo. Also, there are mile markers 95% of the route, which is helpful without the the need to look down at your watch.
TONS of wildlife viewed during the FKT. Simply a stunning morning!
At the end of the route, I was not sure if the route ended upon arrival at the bridge or at the end of the bridge, so I ran to the end of the bridge! Perhaps we use the end of the bridge for consistency moving forward?
Nutrition: a few sips of Nuun sport drink, 2 Spring Energy gels, and 1 Maurten gel, which I carried all in my running belt. Not a ton of liquids! But very cool temps outside this morning.
