Started out around 40°F. I was hoping to out run any weather. Made it to the summit and back down a mile without any serious issues. Although, there was a little hail on the climb up to American Basin. At the same spot coming back it was a full blown blizzard. The wind was so strong for mile 5, the snow was falling parallel to the ground instead of perpendicular. The wind made it hard to breath while running forward. I didn't want to take the time to put on my gloves or coat. My hands were frozen! With 1.5-miles left, the snow turned to rain and the wind stopped. I ran with a pack and Leki poles. Shoes: Adidas Terrex Agravic Ultras. Didn't eat anything. I drank 10 ounces of an electrolyte mix throughout the run from my pack.
